The Program is structured as a longitudinal scholars program with progressive milestones that evolve with each year of training.

The specific purposes of the Program include:
a. Providing medical students at all stages of training (M1–M4) with structured, longitudinal exposure to orthopaedic surgery and its subspecialties — including, in the Program’s founding scope, sports medicine — with capacity to expand to additional subspecialties as membership and faculty interest allow.
b. Organizing regular educational programming, including quarterly lectures delivered by attending physicians in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, with attendance open to all members and designed to include resident participation and informal Q&A.
c. Establishing and sustaining a student-driven orthopaedic research program, with the goal of producing original, peer-reviewed, high-quality scholarship in collaboration with faculty advisors.
d. Offering structured mentorship — including senior-to-junior medical student mentorship and student-to-faculty mentorship — that creates continuity, sustained academic output, and durable faculty relationships across class years.
e. Preparing members for residency applications through the Program’s progressive scholars framework (Article III), early clinical exposure, and faculty–student relationships.
f. Establishing a foundation that may, in time, scale across orthopaedic subspecialties and across institutions, as the Program matures.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Student Organization - Community Service

Website

Mission
We are a student run organization that was founded out of the desire to serve our local committee, specifically through the Ronald McDonald House chapter here in Augusta. We are passionate about the Ronald McDonald Charity and how it serves our community. If you are unfamiliar with the Ronald McDonald House Charity, it is an organization that provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost. It removes the burden of finding temporary housing and allows families to remain close to their loved-ones throughout the course of their child’s treatment. Augusta is the home of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the second largest hospital in the state, and ranked number one for the quality of pediatric care they provide. People travel from all over the state to receive treatment they cannot receive from anywhere else. There are nationwide chapters of Ronald McDonald Houses, but our organization supports the local Ronald McDonald House by coordinating volunteers for Ronald McDonald House events, organizing fundraisers, and serving the local chapter in any way possible.
